1. Define your true purpose:

many entrepreneurs go into business because they see a gap which needs filling or a niche which is ripe for development. Yet as they develop their business the practices and goals tend to lose sight of this original insight. Instead of building on the purpose of the business they attempt to increase the profitability of the service or product at the expense of their vision. A business owner is the individual who takes the financial risk in creating a venture. They are the legal owners but in many instances they are not the person of ownership. Many entrepreneurs, through lack of skills or lack of discipline slowly allow ownership to shift to key employees, managers, and sometimes vendors.
